the Kolache Festival (a Local Historical Society festival) in Burleson County on September 14 in the town of Caldwell
Sandra M, Kevin C. & his wife, Vicky, and Linda O. attended the Kolache Festival (a Local Historical Society festival) in Burleson County on September 14 in the town of Caldwell. The Kolache Festival was held in the backyard of a historical house along with a blacksmith, a lady churning butter, a lady spinning wool from her sheep, a man taking corn off the cob and the CTBG members demonstrated basket making.
Linda O wove a basket to demonstrate the art of basketry. Kevin and his wife Vicky had some paper heart shapes that were cut out and then the festival attendees wove into a cup along with weaving god's eye made with yarn. Many children participated in this weaving activity. Sandra, Kevin, Vicky, and Linda found this festival enjoyable. CTBG members have been invited back for next year's festival!

A big Thank You to Rita Mroczek for getting the wonderful Nordstrom company to make beauty kits for us. Rita also got the Sock Club to donate an assortment of socks this year, not just adult, but youth and baby socks!

A big THANK YOU from Cema at SafePlace (see pic below).
We delivered 10 full baskets to this year’s graduating class and 3 baskets that will be used as gifts for SafePlace speakers(see pic below).
I want to thank Jan S. for her beautiful basket that she donated to our Nordstrom’s contact (see pic below). I (Rebecca) contributed a small muffin basket to the Sock Club. I want to also thank Rita M. for bringing both Nordstrom’s and the Sock Club into our fold as donation resources.
Both Rita and I want to thank you for your work on our community outreach project, I’m sorry you all were not there to see Cema load up her Honda Fit with our baskets, she was so grateful. Cema said that this really means something to these ladies and they were looking forward to their baskets.
We are paying it forward with basket power!
