Special Weaving Instructors & Workshops

We had a lovely visiting teacher event on July 16th. Mary Brown from the Houston area guild came
to Austin to teach her now famous Rain Stick workshop. It was lovely and well attended. We even did a
little co-mingling with the Austin Fibers artists, a few of their members attended as well.
Here are some examples of the rain sticks we made. There was an opportunity to explore lots of
techniques and materials on each stick.

Our New Weavers Class was held on
Sept. 15, 2019. We had 10 new weavers weaving their beautiful baskets!

Last September, 2018, five CTBG members taught a New Weaver's Class to 7 new weavers at the HEB in the Mueller Market District. We had great fun & laughed lots.
